What This Pattern Feels Like
High standards, tension, perfectionism, hypervigilance, a need to get things “right.”
Snapshot
Body Type: upright posture, tense jaw, structured muscle tone.
Age Of Wounding: 3.5 -5yrs
Color: indigo or cool blue (clarity, calm, mental spaciousness)
Crystal: amethyst (soothes perfectionism + mental rigidity)
Core Mantra: “I allow space for possibilities. I don’t need to control every moment. I allow myself to soften into life”
Somatic Based Exercises
1. Movement, “Spine Wave”
On your hands and knees
Wave and undulate the spine from tailbone → head. No set rhythm, no “right” way to do it.
No straight lines allowed! Think fluid, not perfect.
1-2 minutes
Purpose: introduces fluidity where rigidity lives
2. Breath, “Box Breath”
Inhale 4
Hold 4
Exhale 4
Hold 4
Repeat for 6–8 cycles. You can hold an amethyst or visualize the colour blue while breathing for an extra challenge.
Purpose: gives structure while simultaneously calming the mind and nervous system
3. Visualization, “The No-Expectation Room”
Imagine a quiet, soft, comfortable room with no demands, deadlines, or observers.
Let your body soften into the permission to rest. Notice if you are holding tension, take your awareness there and allow yourself to relax.
Let your body imagine resting, softening, unobserved and unjudged.
This breaks the “I must hold everything together” pattern.Start with one minute and work your way up.
Purpose: reduces internal rigidity and vigilance, relax inside the safety of a boundary.
